Cyberattack on Polish energy grid impacted around 30 facilities

Dragos reports a coordinated late-December cyberattack attributed to the Russian-linked Electrum group targeting distributed energy resource sites across Poland (approximately 12–30 facilities). Attackers compromised OT/ICS components and Windows hosts, disabled communications, and deployed destructive wipers—damaging equipment beyond repair; although power supply was not disrupted, the incident demonstrates high attacker sophistication and poses significant risks to grid stability.
