BPO giant Conduent confirms data breach impacts 10.5 million people

Conduent disclosed a data breach stemming from a compromise that began in October 2024 and was discovered in January 2025; state notifications report at least 10.5 million impacted individuals with exposed PII including names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and health/insurance information. The incident follows a service outage earlier in the year attributed by some to the Safepay ransomware group, and Conduent has acknowledged stolen files but reported no evidence of misuse as of its notification.
