Cyberattack knocks offline France's postal, banking services

La Poste and La Banque Postale experienced a major nationwide outage that took websites, mobile apps, digital identity and document storage services offline; French media reported the disruption was caused by a suspected DDoS attack. While some branch operations were impacted, core banking functions (ATM withdrawals, in-store card payments, transfers) remained operational and authorities previously made an arrest related to a separate recent cyberattack.
