A former developer embedded custom malware (an infinite Java thread loop) and a kill switch called "IsDLEnabledinAD" into his ex-employer’s Windows environment; when his Active Directory account was disabled after termination the kill switch locked out thousands of users, caused production outages and hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses, and the developer was subsequently convicted and sentenced to four years in prison.
