Microsoft announced Windows Hotpatch in preview for Windows 11 Enterprise 24H2 and Windows 365, allowing security updates to install in memory without reboots, except for quarterly cumulative updates that require a restart—reducing restarts from 12 to 4 annually. Eligible organizations (Windows Enterprise E3/E5 or Windows 365 Enterprise, Windows 11 24H2 build 26100.2033+, and Intune) can manage enrollment via Intune/Autopatch. At Ignite, Microsoft also introduced the $4M Zero Day Quest event and previewed new security capabilities including Administrator Protection, Quick Machine Recovery, Zero Trust DNS, and Config Refresh.
