Avnet confirmed unauthorized access to externally hosted cloud storage supporting an internal EMEA sales tool, with a threat actor claiming to have exfiltrated 1.3 TB of compressed data (7–12 TB raw) including plaintext PII and proprietary-format records; Avnet says the proprietary data is not readable without internal tools, rotated Azure/Databricks secrets after detection, reported the incident to authorities, and faces extortion attempts via a dark-web leak site.
