New Android malware wipes your device after draining bank accounts

A Cleafy report details a new Android malware called BingoMod spread by smishing and masquerading as mobile security apps; once installed it requests Accessibility permissions and uses MediaProjection to stream screens to operators, enabling on-device fraud, credential theft, SMS interception, remote control (clicks/text), overlay attacks, propagation via SMS, and data-wiping when granted device-admin. Researchers note active development, added obfuscation to evade detection, and that Google Play Protect reportedly detects and blocks the malware.
