Tor announced Oniux, a Rust-based CLI that isolates any Linux application into dedicated network, mount, user, and PID namespaces and routes traffic through Tor via onionmasq/Arti, providing kernel-enforced, leak-resistant Tor usage compared to torsocks’ LD_PRELOAD interception (which can be bypassed and lacks true isolation). Oniux remains experimental and Linux-only, with source code available and examples such as `oniux curl http://example.onion`, `oniux bash`, and running GUI apps; installation is via `cargo install --git https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/core/oniux [email protected]`.
