Microsoft confirmed a bug in the June 2026 security updates that causes the Recycle Bin's permanent-delete confirmation dialog to show internal filenames (for example $Rxxxxx.ext) rather than the original filenames. The Recycle Bin display and file restoration behave correctly; the issue affects multiple supported Windows client and server releases and Microsoft is working on a future update while offering a business-only workaround via its Support team.
