LA County Health Services: Patients' data exposed in phishing attack

L.A. County Department of Health Services disclosed a February 19–20, 2024 phishing attack that stole credentials for 23 employee email accounts and potentially exposed personal and medical information for about 6,085 patients (no SSNs or financial data reported); DHS disabled affected accounts, remediated devices, circulated employee awareness, and will notify regulators while advising patients to verify their records.
