Ascension redirects ambulances after suspected ransomware attack

Ascension, a major U.S. healthcare network operating 140 hospitals and numerous care facilities, is experiencing a suspected Black Basta ransomware attack that has taken down MyChart, some phone systems, and ordering systems, leading to ambulance diversions, paused elective procedures, and advisories for partners to disconnect; Mandiant is assisting the investigation and downtime procedures remain in use.
