Comcast and Truist Bank customers caught up in FBCS data breach

FBCS, a U.S. debt-collection agency, suffered a data breach in Feb 14–26, 2024 that exposed sensitive personal data (full names, SSNs, dates of birth, driver’s license/ID numbers, and account information) of an expanding set of victims now totaling approximately 4.2 million people; Comcast (273,703 customers) and Truist Bank customers were later confirmed impacted, with identity protection services offered and an investigation ongoing.
