Japanese police have released a free decryptor for the Phobos and 8-Base ransomware operations after an international law enforcement disruption that seized servers and led to arrests; the tool (also hosted on NoMoreRansom and promoted by Europol/FBI) has been tested by BleepingComputer and successfully decrypted files with extensions including .phobos, .8base, .elbie, .faust and .LIZARD, though browsers may flag the executable as malicious making downloads more difficult.
