North Korea hacks two South Korean chip firms to steal engineering data

The South Korean National Intelligence Service warns that North Korean-linked hackers targeted domestic semiconductor manufacturers in late 2023–early 2024, exploiting internet-exposed servers and known flaws to gain access and using living-off-the-land techniques to steal sensitive product designs and facility photos; NIS notified victims and recommended patching, stricter access controls, and stronger administrative authentication.
