Hacker gets seven years for breaching Rotterdam and Antwerp ports

The Amsterdam Court of Appeal sentenced a 44-year-old Dutch national to seven years imprisonment for hacking port logistics systems in the Netherlands and Belgium to facilitate drug trafficking. The attacker used malicious USB sticks to deploy a remote access tool, exfiltrated and intercepted data, attempted to resell malware, and faced charges including computer hacking, attempted extortion and facilitating cocaine importation; objections over law enforcement’s interception of Sky ECC communications were rejected.
