Microsoft confirmed that WSUS-managed devices may be unable to upgrade to Windows 11 24H2 after the April 8, 2025 security update (KB5055528), resulting in 0x80240069 errors and unexpected Windows Update service stoppages; home users are largely unaffected. The company reiterated WSUS deprecation while delaying removal of driver synchronization and acknowledged a separate latent issue causing unintended Windows 11 upgrades (and previously Windows Server 2025 upgrades) despite management policies, with fixes in progress.
