Android 16 expands 'Advanced Protection' with device-level security

Google announced Android 16’s Advanced Protection, a device-level security mode that consolidates strong system safeguards (verified boot, runtime integrity checks, sandboxing, USB lockdown, app isolation, automatic reboots, enhanced Play Protect), adds intrusion logging and blocks auto-reconnects to insecure Wi‑Fi, and introduces anti-scam and anti-theft features including in-call scam protections, Messages key verification with QR/number checks, AI-based scam detection, and expanded Find Hub support with Bluetooth tags and planned satellite connectivity to better protect high-risk users.
