DrayTek routers worldwide go into reboot loops over weekend

Multiple ISPs reported a widespread outage caused by DrayTek routers intermittently losing connectivity and entering boot loops; the cause was attributed to either attacks exploiting vulnerable firmware or a buggy firmware update. Affected users were advised to upgrade to the latest firmware, disconnect WAN during upgrade, and disable remote management and SSL VPN until patched; DrayTek published guidance but has not confirmed whether exploitation or buggy firmware is the root cause.
