Anthropic to restore Claude Fable access on Wednesday

Anthropic confirmed the Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models; Fable 5 access will begin to be restored while Mythos 5 remains limited to select companies. The company is also rolling out identity verification (KYC) for certain use cases via Persona, requiring government-issued photo ID and possibly a live selfie, and states verification data are held by Persona and not used to train models.
