Microsoft announced general availability of inbound SMTP DANE with DNSSEC for Exchange Online, extending existing outbound support to improve email security by preventing downgrade and man-in-the-middle attacks via DNSSEC-validated TLSA records. The rollout spans Outlook and Hotmail consumer domains through March 2025 with related admin reporting, and a May 2025 milestone will make outbound SMTP DANE mandatory per tenant/remote domain, with the capability offered at no cost to home and enterprise customers.
