Former Trenchant general manager Peter Williams stole at least eight zero-day exploit components from L3Harris between 2022 and 2025 and sold them to the Russia-based broker Operation Zero for $1.3M in cryptocurrency; he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 87 months in prison with forfeitures. The theft caused an estimated $35M in losses, could have enabled access to millions of devices, and prompted U.S. Treasury sanctions against the broker and its owner.
