Google Groups is ending support for Usenet to combat spam

Google will end Usenet support and its NNTP peering in Google Groups on February 22, 2024, citing increased spam and declining legitimate text-based activity. After this date, users cannot post, subscribe, or view new Usenet content through Google Groups, though historical content remains searchable; Google advises migrating to alternative Usenet clients and public NNTP servers, and confirms non-Usenet Google Groups are unaffected.
