New York Times warns freelancers of GitHub repo data breach

The New York Times suffered a GitHub repository breach in which an exposed token was used to siphon approximately 273GB of data—around 5,000 repos and 3.6 million files—some of which was leaked on public forums; the theft included source code, IT/infrastructure documentation and personal information for freelance contributors (names, contact details, certifications), though NYT says internal corporate systems and full-time staff do not appear affected.
