Microsoft is investigating reports that Windows 11 24H2 updates KB5063878 and KB5062660 may cause SSD and HDD data corruption or failures, particularly during heavy write operations on drives over 60% full. While Microsoft says it cannot reproduce the issue and has no telemetry indicating increased failures, it is collecting user reports and working with storage partners, including Phison. Users are advised to avoid writing or extracting very large files in single operations until more information is available.
