Windows 11 installation media bug causes security update failures

Microsoft warns that Windows 11 24H2 installations created from October or November 2024 installation media can become unable to receive future security updates, recommending the December 10, 2024 update as the workaround until a permanent fix is issued. The report also notes a range of other 24H2 issues—audio problems on certain devices, Outlook launch failures with outdated Google Workspace Sync, Auto HDR causing game freezes and color issues, USB scanner eSCL problems, and performance and stability issues in some Ubisoft games—along with temporary blocks on certain ASUS and other configurations.
