The Artemis security scanner

This document introduces Artemis, an open-source vulnerability scanner by CERT PL, describing its modular capabilities (subdomain discovery, port/service identification, DNS and email misconfiguration checks, exposure of sensitive files, brute-force modules, SQLi detection via sqlmap, Nuclei integration, CMS/version checks, TLS verification, and domain expiry monitoring), automated actionable reporting with false-positive heuristics, and operational workflow. It shares 2023 large-scale results (~50.6k domains, ~251.7k subdomains, ~184.8k findings with ~11.6k high severity), lessons learned (rate limiting, deduplication, contact database upkeep, prioritization), typical recipient responses, and guidance for adopting and responsibly running the scanner.
