VirusTotal has integrated ByteDefend, an AI model from Ariel University’s ByteDefend Cyber Lab, to analyze macros in Microsoft Office files as part of its Crowdsourced AI initiative, expanding Code Insight with multiple independent engines. The announcement showcases examples where models both concur and diverge on verdicts, emphasizing transparent explanations to aid human analysts, and introduces VT Intelligence search modifiers (bytedefend_ai_analysis and bytedefend_ai_verdict) for querying reports. It invites additional community contributors to strengthen collective cyber defense.
