The four stages of creating a trust fabric with identity and network security

Microsoft presents a four-stage maturity roadmap for building a digital “trust fabric” that secures access for any identity to any resource across clouds: 1) establish Zero Trust access controls (SSO, phishing-resistant MFA, Conditional Access), 2) secure hybrid workforce access by unifying identity, endpoint, and network controls and reducing legacy dependencies, 3) secure external users with CIAM, governance, and frictionless experiences, and 4) manage multicloud access with visibility and control over human and workload identities and permissions. The post highlights Microsoft Entra and Copilot for Security as key enablers to automate, investigate risks, and streamline lifecycle workflows, offering recommended resources to progress at each stage.
