Microsoft Copilot for Security is generally available on April 1, 2024, with new capabilities

Microsoft announced the general availability of Microsoft Copilot for Security on April 1, 2024, introducing a pay-as-you-go model, multilingual support, and an expanded partner ecosystem, alongside new capabilities such as custom promptbooks, knowledge base integrations, usage reporting, and connections to Defender EASM and Entra logs. The release embeds Copilot experiences across Defender’s unified security operations platform, Entra user risk investigation, Purview, and Intune, and adds AI usage discovery, protection, and governance controls (including new threat detections for Copilot for Microsoft 365 in Defender for Cloud Apps). Additional portfolio updates include Microsoft Security Exposure Management, Purview Adaptive Protection integration with Entra Conditional Access, Communication Compliance insights, and new Intune Suite features, with cited studies showing productivity gains for security analysts.
