Lloyds Banking Group reported a software defect introduced during a mobile app update on 12 March that temporarily allowed up to 447,936 customers to view other users' payment and account details; approximately 114,182 users clicked into transactions that exposed account details, national insurance numbers or payment references. The bank notified the FCA and ICO, has paid limited compensation, reports no evidence of misuse to date, and is continuing monitoring and engagement with affected customers.
