London councils enact emergency plans after three hit by cyber-attack

Three London councils (Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, and Hammersmith and Fulham) reported a cyber-attack that disrupted multiple systems and phone lines, prompting shutdowns of computerised services, activation of business-continuity and emergency plans, and involvement of the National Crime Agency and the National Cyber Security Centre; at the time of reporting no data compromise or attribution had been confirmed, though services affecting over half a million residents were limited.
