Google adds end-to-end Gmail encryption to Android, iOS devices for enterprises

Google announced native end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for Gmail on Android and iOS for Workspace users; the capability is opt-in, requires a premium license and administrative setup, and disables some Gmail features (including AI features and comprehensive search) for encrypted content. Google states encrypted messages can be sent to any recipient and read securely in native apps or browsers, while Microsoft currently does not offer comparable mobile E2EE for Outlook.
