SAP customers say migration is eating their budgets—and AI is next in line

ASUG's 2026 SAP AI Research (conducted with Microsoft and Intel) finds that most organizations remain in AI pilot or knowledge-building stages for SAP S/4HANA: 41% are piloting, 39% building foundational knowledge, 24% in active deployment, and just 10% at enterprise-scale rollout. The report highlights familiar barriers—security/privacy/governance concerns (32%), budget constraints (27%), and lack of internal AI skills (27%)—and states organizations need clear governance frameworks, alignment with business processes, and compelling use cases to progress.
