Microsoft and Amazon devote billions of dollars to thousands of FDEs

Microsoft announced a new offering called Microsoft Frontier Company that will place 6,000 experts with customers to co-design, co-innovate, deploy, and continuously improve AI systems tailored to business goals; the service emphasizes model diversity, FinOps-based governance, and the ability for customers to choose from models like ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or open-source/industry-specific models.
