Cursor customers will lose access to OpenAI coding models in November

OpenAI announced it will wind down its contract supplying models to the Cursor AI coding platform — owned by Anysphere, which was acquired by SpaceX — proposing a shutoff date of November 12, 2026. The decision is attributed to OpenAI’s concerns that SpaceX and associated companies have a history of violating terms of service and may not use the technology in accordance with OpenAI’s policies.
