Identity is the control plane, and AI just changed the game

This blog argues that as AI multiplies non-human identities and authorization events, organizations should repatriate critical IAM elements—authorization decisioning, token services, and identity telemetry—while still leveraging SaaS for user lifecycle workflows, to overcome SaaS rate limits, non-linear cost models, latency, and multi-tenant shared-fate risks, thereby improving resilience, agility, performance, and consistent enforcement at scale.
