Latest Android Malware is Not a Surprise; Zimperium Customers Protected

A reported Android malware strain distributed via third‑party app store 9Apps has infected roughly 25 million devices by embedding a malicious ads module that hid its icon and automatically replaced legitimate apps (including WhatsApp, Opera Mini, Flipkart, Lenovo and SwiftKey) without users' knowledge; infections were concentrated in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, with hundreds of thousands detected in the US and UK.
