Apple patches major security vulnerabilities in the watchOS

Zimperium describes the 'DoubleDirect' full‑duplex ICMP Redirect MITM attack affecting Apple Watch and other devices: observed in-the-wild across 30+ countries, it can redirect traffic to an attacker to steal credentials and deliver malware. Apple released patches (including Watch OS 1.0.1), but devices remain vulnerable until updated — updates should be performed on trusted networks and enterprise protections recommended.
