Malicious WiFi Connections: Welcome to RSA Conference 2019

Zimperium’s blog analyzes large-scale WiFi-based malicious activity observed across the San Francisco Bay Area and around the RSA conference, reporting hundreds of thousands of detected network threat events (including scans, rogue access points and man-in-the-middle attacks) concentrated at airports, hotels and event venues; the report includes temporal and geographic distributions, detection counts from zIPS sensors, and recommended mitigations such as disabling auto-join, avoiding open networks, and using VPNs.
