This Zimperium research evaluates 90 iOS and Android mobile banking apps from top US banks and payment providers and finds widespread security and privacy weaknesses—shared and outdated code, insufficient obfuscation and runtime protections, and excessive third‑party data sharing—that increase exposure to malware campaigns and credential-theft attacks reportedly targeting 63% of banks; these issues raise the risk of large-scale fraud, regulatory penalties, and customer data leakage.
