Major Breach Attributed to Mobile Phishing Attack

On November 18, Harvard University detected a data breach affecting its Alumni Affairs and Development systems caused by a successful mobile phishing (mishing) attack that granted the attacker access to internal systems. The report warns that attackers are adopting a mobile-first strategy that can bypass traditional desktop and network defenses, notes limitations of MDM/UEM against phishing and mobile threats, and recommends deploying on-device mobile threat defense to mitigate such risks.
