Leveraging Zimperium’s Zero-Day Detection to Combat OilAlpha’s Remote Access Trojans

Zimperium reports that the pro-Houthi group OilAlpha deployed Android Remote Access Trojans (disguised apps such as “Cash Incentives.apk”) against humanitarian organizations in Yemen; Zimperium’s Mobile Threat Defense detected three zero-day samples and identified 18 malicious domains, and the blog describes the RAT capabilities as well as behavioral, machine-learning detection, real-time response, and automated remediation controls.
