Predator Spyware Strikes Again

Citizen Lab (with Google Project Zero) reported that Ahmen Eltantawy, a former Egyptian MP, was targeted with Predator spyware (developed by Cytrox) using a sophisticated attack chain that included SMS/WhatsApp malicious links, manipulation of cellular traffic via MITM to redirect devices to compromised HTTP sites, and three iOS zero-day vulnerabilities enabling a zero-click compromise; the report emphasizes nation-state-level orchestration and provides Zimperium's recommended layered defenses to detect and mitigate such mobile threats.
