Deep dive into QUANTUM INSERT

This report analyzes the QUANTUMINSERT man-on-the-side TCP/HTTP injection technique: how attackers observe HTTP requests, craft spoofed server responses, and race the legitimate server reply to inject redirects or malicious payloads. It includes a PoC implementation, detection heuristics (duplicate sequence numbers with differing payloads, TTL/timestamp anomalies), IDS detection guidance for Snort/Bro/Suricata, mitigation suggestions (HTTPS/HSTS, CDNs) and notes on attacker capabilities and possible evasion methods.
