Pro-Russian Cybercrime Network Demolished in Operation Eastwood

Europol and Eurojust coordinated Operation Eastwood (14–17 July 2025) to disrupt NoName057(16), a pro‑Russian hacktivist/cybercrime network that used a botnet and automated tools to conduct widespread DDoS campaigns against Ukrainian entities and countries supporting Ukraine; the operation took down central infrastructure, disrupted over 100 systems, led to arrests and warrants across multiple European countries, and highlighted the group's recruitment, gamification, and cryptocurrency payment mechanisms.
