Mandiant’s M-Trends 2026 summary reports that 2025 saw high-tech become the most targeted sector, with 83 malicious campaigns and eight global events affecting 73 countries, a rise in median attacker dwell time to 14 days, broad adoption of the ClickFix social-engineering technique, tracking of 661 new threat clusters and 714 new malware families, and notable shifts in initial access (vulnerability exploits leading, vishing increasing) while ransomware actors increasingly target backup and recovery infrastructure.
