Infosecurity Europe: Reactive Security Is Failing Healthcare Organizations, Experts Warn

Healthcare organizations are facing an escalating cyber threat landscape—particularly ransomware and attacks against long-lived medical devices—with Proofpoint data cited that 93% of HCOs experienced at least one attack in 2025 (average 43 attacks). Experts at Infosecurity Europe argued AI both accelerates attacker capabilities (faster exploitation and phishing) and can empower defenders, and recommended moving from reactive to proactive postures by achieving full device visibility, prioritizing by clinical risk, using AI for signal correlation, and applying patching, segmentation and compensating controls.
