Number of Cybersecurity Pros Surges 194% in Four Years

Socura’s report, drawing on ONS data, finds the UK cybersecurity workforce expanded 194% from 28,500 to 83,700 between Dec 2021 and June 2025, making cybersecurity one of the country’s fastest-growing occupations; however, women comprise only 21% of the sector, and the authors urge broader regional talent development beyond London and the South East and greater investment in employee welfare to sustainably close the skills gap.
