French Museums Hit By Ransomware Attack

A ransomware incident was detected on the night of Aug 3–4 affecting IT systems that centralize financial data for roughly 40 French museums (including the Grand Palais). Attackers encrypted parts of those systems, demanded payment in cryptocurrency and threatened to leak data within 48 hours; French authorities (ANSSI and BL2C) are investigating, the Louvre denied impact, and ANSSI confirmed Olympic-related systems were unaffected.
