Interpol-coordinated Operation First Light 2026 (15 Jan–30 Apr 2026) involved law enforcement from 97 countries targeting social-engineering frauds — including romance scams and business email compromise — and related money laundering; the operation identified 15,606 suspects and over 142,000 victims, led to 5,811 arrests, froze 31,014 bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets, and intercepted approximately $293 million in illicit assets.
